Bloodveil (Anti-Hero)
Dominic Hale lived his life saving others. A young paramedic, he worked long nights patching up wounds, resuscitating the dying, and pulling people from burning wrecks. He had a reputation for throwing himself into danger, even when it meant risking his own life. During the mall incident, when the poisonous gas was released, Dominic was carrying an injured woman to safety. A collapsing beam slashed open his chest, leaving a deep, bloody wound. He kept running, saving the woman — but the gas seeped into his wound, infecting his very blood.
In the days that followed, Dominic realized something was wrong. His veins glowed faintly red, and his blood no longer acted like blood. It moved, slithered, and even attacked threats on instinct. At first, Dominic was horrified — the sight of his own blood writhing outside his body was enough to make him sick. But soon he learned he could control it, shaping it into tendrils, blades, and shields. He could even pull his blood back into his body after losing it. He became *Bloodveil* — a man whose very lifeblood had become his weapon.
But the power came with a price. Every time Dominic used his abilities, he felt less human. The blood whispered to him, a dark, hungry voice urging him to spill more, to let it consume others. He resisted, but the temptation grew. Was he truly in control, or just a host for something monstrous born from the gas? This fear drives Dominic to keep his distance from others, worried that one mistake could turn him into the very thing he fights against.
Despite this, Dominic continues to save lives. He knows he’s cursed, but he refuses to let the curse define him. To the public, Bloodveil is both terrifying and heroic — a blood-soaked figure who appears in the aftermath of disaster. To Dominic, he’s still just a paramedic, trying to keep people alive, even if his own humanity slips further away with each fight.
