Shatterform (Elias Veyne)
Real Name: Elias Veyne
Alias: Shatterform
Alignment: Antihero (leaning towards tragic villain at times)
Abilities: Matter-Morphing Physiology — Elias can alter his body into different substances such as sand, water, mud, stone, or a gelatinous mass. He can flow through cracks, harden into walls, or strike with crushing weight. His transformations, however, are imperfect — unstable and often leaving him exhausted or distorted.
Origin
Once an ordinary man, Elias Veyne was a convicted criminal sentenced to death. Offered a choice between lethal injection or becoming a subject in a dangerous scientific experiment, he chose science — clinging to his childhood love of discovery and a small hope for survival. The procedure attempted to rewrite his very matter, reshaping him into something new. But the machine malfunctioned mid-process, leaving Elias permanently unstable, his body caught between human and shifting elements.
He escaped the facility, hunted by guards, only to discover his new nature on a collapsing bridge — leaping off, he instinctively dissolved into water before hitting the surface, surviving where no man should. For a brief moment, he thought this curse might be a gift.
But tragedy consumed him. Returning home, Elias found his family had been murdered during a botched robbery. Overcome with rage, he tracked the killers down and executed them mercilessly, sinking their bodies into the sea. The taste of vengeance only deepened his despair.
Downfall
Alone, broke, and unable to find work, Elias drifted into the criminal underworld. He became a getaway driver for a gang, his shapeshifting powers giving him an edge in escapes. It was survival, nothing more. But fate twisted cruelly once again.
The gang was sent to rob the home of a wealthy man: Francs Wellerman. The name jolted Elias — Francs was his childhood best friend, the only person who had ever believed in him. Rushing inside to stop the heist, Elias was too late. Gunshots rang out, and he arrived only to see his gang laughing over Francs’ lifeless body.
In an uncontrollable rage, Elias unleashed his powers, slaughtering his own crew in a storm of sand and stone. But it was too late. He had lost the last piece of good in his life. Covered in his best friend’s blood — blood spilled because of his choices — Elias knew what he had become.
The Man Called Shatterform
Elias Veyne no longer sees himself as a man. He is a broken experiment, a living weapon, a tragedy who drifts between worlds of crime and justice. Sometimes he saves lives, sometimes he takes them, guided by his unstable emotions.
He is feared by criminals and hunted by police. Heroes debate whether he should be treated as an ally or destroyed as a threat. And deep down, Elias doesn’t even know if he wants to be saved.
For wherever he walks, destruction follows.
And that is why they call him… Shatterform
