The farm environment and its biodiversity can be taken care of by using a wide range of different methods:
Take care of hedges in an environmentally friendly way
Build and manage forested small island like areas in the field landscape
Establish and maintain hedges and field edges
Maintain ditch beds in such a way that you support biodiversity
Increase the amount of permanent grasses in the landscape
Preserve and take care of traditional landscapes
Renovate traditional landscapes that are in poor condition
Maintain and establish diverse grasslands
Convert part of the farmland to pasture
Plant flowering trees and shrubs
Establish and maintain wooded small areas and tree alleys
Implement methods to avoid erosion
Establish grass strips
Leave small areas of fields sown with winter crops unsown
Create strips with flowering plants at the edges of the fields and between the fields.
Create smaller fields
Do not fertilize or use pesticides on field verges
Establish beetle banks
Leave winter stubble in the field
Grow different plants in a crop rotation
Turn manure into soil
Mowe grasslands in a corn crake friendly manner

Rekola Farm in Finland (9 min.)
Leave part of grasslands untreated every other year
When caring for grasslands, use diverse methods both temporally and locally
Grazing, where possible, different animal species
Adjust grazing pressure by alternating different pastures
Turn peatlands into permanent grasses
Do not cultivate areas prone to erosion
Establish, maintain or renovate wooden and stone fences
You can choose an alternative farming method, e.g. field forest farming, regenerative farming, permaculture farming or urban farming.
