On May 10, 2011, Ms. Afrika Abney went to Malcolm X Park. She left the park in December 2015. Many newspapers, journalists and other people came to the park numerous times. However, Ms. Abney has thrown away the clothing articles shown in the above photo was taken on May 10, 2011.
Ms. Afrika Abney provided dance consulting services to various small businesses, studios, and nonprofits, including African Heritage Dancers and Drummers.She served as a substitute instructor at Joy of Motion Dance Center (2013 - 2015), Dance Institute of Washington (2010 - 2012), West African Dance Instructor for the following summer camps: Kingdom Kids Care, Washington, DC. (July 3,2013 - July 17, 2013), M.O.M.I.E.S. TLC (2015), Young Women's Drumming Empowerment (2015), World Intensive Camp at Joy of Motion (2013). Ms. Abney also served as a West African dance instructor for several other non profits and dance studios such as Roda Movements (2015). She also performed with various groups like African Heritage Dancers and Drummers, Memory of African Culture, Soul in Motion Players, Inc, Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers, Akoma Drummers, Bele Bele Rhythm Collective, and Balafon Women's Ensemble.
