Since then, she has performed at a multitude of venues, blending traditional and modern elements to create captivating performances that inspire and uplift audiences of all abilities.
Her mission is to promote confidence, self-esteem, and personal expression through the art of dance. Ms. Abney believes that movement is a powerful form of communication that transcends language and empowers individuals to express themselves in unique and meaningful ways.
With formal training in West African dance and ballet from esteemed instructors such as Melvin Deal, Kadiatou Conte, and Sherrill Berryman Johnson, she has developed a deep understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of dance. Ms. Abney excels in creating dynamic and engaging workshops, performances, and instructional sessions that resonate with diverse audiences.
Throughout her career, Ms. Abney provided professional dance services for a wide range of clients, including small businesses, dance studios, and nonprofits. She has performed at prestigious venues such as Georgetown University Law School, Lincoln Theatre, Howard University Blackburn Center, and many others, leaving a lasting impression with her unique blend of traditional and contemporary dance styles.
