Abstract Art

"Abstract art, also called nonobjective art or nonrepresentational art, painting, sculpture, or graphic art in which the portrayal of things from the visible world plays little or no part. " Some of the services that Ms. Afrika Abney offers includes abstract paintings, collages and commissioned work.

Created and designed by Ms. Afrika Abney

Ms. Abney learned about abstract art from several art schools such as Capitol Hill Arts Workshop and Corcoran School of the Arts. She has created over 30 abstract art pieces.  Ms. Abney has created over a dozen of abstract art pieces for over 20 years using a wide variety of materials such as qtips, paint brushes and other non traditional materials on canvas and paper. She also has professional experiences in creating digital abstract art pieces. Ms. Abney has donated many of abstract art to many small businesses and individuals.

Abstract art is Ms. Abney's visual art style. Some famous abstract artists were Jackson Pollock, Agnes Martin, Mark Rothko, and Wassily Kandinsky. Abstract art always has underlying meaning and it can be fascinating to try to figure out what that is." There is nothing easy about creating abstract art, which originated in the early 1900's. It is typically a mature art form and takes years for the artist to distill their personal style to where abstraction is the logical outcome of a difficult process." It almost always produces a reaction, so abstract art can make great conversation pieces!

Ms. Abney has exhibited several of her abstract paintings during the virtual art exhibition and poetry reading that took place on February 19, 2023 and had some of her art exhibited during the National Daughter Daddy Tour which took place at National City Christian Church in Washington, D.C from 2004 - 2006. On August 13, 2022, Ms. Abney donated several abstract collages and paintings to Esther Productions, Inc.

Additionally, Esther Productions, Inc purchased one of Ms. Abney's abstract paintings on June 23, 2023 and on December 3, 2023, Esther Productions, Inc purchased two abstract paintings created by Ms. Abney.
