OiYan Poon is an assistant professor of Higher Education and Director of the Race & Intersectional Studies for Educational Equity Center at Colorado State University. Her research focuses on the racial politics and discourses of college access, higher education organization and policy, affirmative action, and Asian Americans. In August 2018, she co-authored an amicus brief on behalf of 531 social scientists in support of race-conscious holistic review in the SFFA v. Harvard federal lawsuit. She is currently working on a national study to understand how race-conscious holistic review works at selective colleges, supported by a grant from the Spencer Foundation.
Douglas H. Lee is a graduate research assistant at Colorado State University and has worked in higher education, international education, and on social justice issues for over ten years. He is currently a doctoral student in Higher Education at Colorado State University.
Elias Quiñonez works for the Colorado Department of Higher Education through Colorado GEAR UP. He has worked in higher education for over ten years. He is a graduate research assistant at Colorado State University and is currently a doctoral student in Higher Education at Colorado State University
Eileen Galvez is a scholar-practitioner. She is a doctoral student in the Higher Education Leadership Ph.D. program at Colorado State University. She is also Assistant Dean of Yale College and Director of La Casa Cultural, the Latino Cultural Center at Yale.
Bri Sérráno is a scholar-practitioner, social justice educator, and Ph.D. student at Colorado State University Higher Education Leadership program that specializes in supporting queer and transgender students of color. Bri currently oversees the Pride (LGBTQ) Center and is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Ethnic and Women’s Studies department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Nikki Chun is a first-gen, Kanaka Maoli who has worked in college admissions for more than 15 years across three institutions. She obtained her M.S.Ed. in Enrollment Management from the University of Miami and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership with Colorado State University. Nikki is currently the Senior Associate Director of Admissions at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
