This icy mint is the only mouthwash I have been able to find that stimulates my vagus nerve, which makes it possible for me to function everyday. Without it I wouldn’t be able to do much. When I don’t stimulate my vagus nerve after eating I become so fatigued I fall asleep. I searched through all the other mouthwashes in the store and none of them had actual peppermint in them, just peppermint flavoring. I’ve tried straight peppermint oil diluted with water, and it has similar effects, but not like Therabreath. I love this mouthwash, it’s the last step in stimulating my vagus nerve everyday. After gargling and then vigorously swishing in my mouth it opens my nose and helps me breathe deeply. I remember reading from a chiropractor’s website about tips on how to stimulate your vagus nerve and 2 of the steps were things I’ve been doing for years. It finally made sense why what I was doing was enabling me to function. I gag myself with my toothbrushes and then finish by using this mouthwash. I don’t remember how I stumbled upon doing the gagging, I assume I was sick one day and threw up and was trying to clean my tongue and accidentally gagged and it gave me a big boost of air and my nose cleared. Once I realized I was stimulating my vagus nerve, it made sense why no other mouthwash I tried did what this does, bc Therabreath icy mint has real peppermint and gargling with peppermint oil is one of the tips on how to stimulate your vagus nerve. Btw I never throw up when gagging myself, it’s dry heaving, just in case people think I’m vomiting from gagging.
