Motion & Graphic Designer
As a Graphic & Motion Designer in this industry which is SIMPLYSITI, my job is to create interesting and effective visual elements to convey a message or concept to the audience. I was given the task of making posters and motion videos for each daily promotion according to the schedule provided. In this case, I use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects and Procreate Dreamz to create a visual element. The background of this position involves expertise in graphic arts, animation, and design to achieve visual communication goals. I am responsible for producing works that are aesthetic, innovative, and according to the requirements of the given project.
Job Execution
Shoot for short drama " Raya Mana Tu ? "
Executing the industrial training project for the short drama "Raya Mana Tu?" under SimplySiti x BeauSiti content with number one Malaysian singer, Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza, involved a collaborative effort with a dedicated team, focusing on both the creative and technical aspects of film production. The process began with pre-production planning, where the team brainstormed ideas, developed the script, and created storyboards to visualize each scene. During the shoot, roles were clearly defined, with team members handling camera work, lighting, sound, and directing to ensure a smooth workflow. Effective communication and teamwork were crucial as the team navigated challenges such as location scouting, managing time constraints, and ensuring continuity between scenes. Post-production involved editing the footage, adding sound effects, and color grading to enhance the visual appeal of the drama. Throughout the project, the team leveraged their individual skills and collaborated closely to bring the story to life, resulting in a polished and engaging short drama that showcases their collective talents and the practical experience gained during the industrial training.
Sunscreen Station Animation
Sunscreen Station Animation, involves an in-depth and hands-on learning process using Procreate Dreamz. The journey begins with the conceptualization and sketching phase, where the designer brainstorms ideas and drafts initial sketches directly within Procreate Dreamz. This intuitive app allows for the creation of detailed illustrations, with features that enable precise control over brushes and layers. Once the storyboard and key visuals are finalized, I moves into the animation phase. Utilizing Procreate Dreamz's powerful animation tools, such as frame-by-frame animation and onion skinning, the designer breathes life into the static illustrations. Attention to detail is crucial, ensuring smooth transitions and fluid movements that convey the intended message effectively. This industrial training project not only enhances technical skills in digital illustration and animation but also emphasizes the importance of creativity, precision, and effective communication in producing compelling motion design.
SimplySiti Pesona Merdeka Launch Week
"SimplySiti Pesona Merdeka Launch Week," encompasses a comprehensive process involving both static and dynamic design elements using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. The project begins with the creation of a captivating poster in Adobe Illustrator. The designer meticulously crafts each visual component, ensuring the artwork reflects the essence of SimplySiti's brand and the patriotic theme of Merdeka. Detailed attention is given to typography, color schemes, and graphic elements to produce a striking and cohesive design. Once the poster is finalized, the designer transitions to Adobe After Effects to create a motion outro. This involves importing the Illustrator assets into After Effects and animating key elements to bring the poster to life. Smooth transitions, kinetic typography, and engaging visual effects are applied to enhance the viewer's experience. The motion outro serves as an exciting conclusion, drawing attention to the launch week's details. Throughout this process, the designer collaborates with team members, incorporating feedback and making adjustments to ensure the final product is polished and professional. This industrial training project not only hones technical skills in both software programs but also underscores the importance of creative storytelling and effective communication in motion design.
Problems & Solutions
1. Shoot for short drama " Raya Mana Tu ? "
Executing the short drama "Raya Mana Tu?" with a team involves navigating several challenges, each requiring effective solutions. One primary problem is coordinating between multiple departments, such as direction, cinematography, and motion design, to ensure a unified vision. This is addressed through regular communication and detailed planning meetings, ensuring everyone is aligned on the project's goals and timelines. Technical difficulties, such as lighting inconsistencies and audio issues, can also arise during the shoot. These are mitigated by conducting thorough equipment checks and having backup plans in place.Time constraints are another common problem, often solved by an efficient shooting schedule and a clear division of tasks among team members and this project done by one day only. By addressing these challenges proactively, the team ensures a smooth production process and a high-quality final product that reflects their collective creativity and technical expertise.
2. Sunscreen Station Animation
Creating the "Sunscreen Station Animation" using Procreate Dreamz presents several challenges, each requiring thoughtful solutions to ensure a successful execution. One significant problem is translating static illustrations into dynamic animations while maintaining visual consistency. This is addressed by utilizing Procreate Dreamz’s robust layer management and animation tools, allowing the designer to meticulously plan and sequence each frame. Another challenge is achieving smooth and fluid motion, which can be difficult with complex illustrations. This is solved by leveraging the app’s onion skinning feature, enabling the designer to see multiple frames at once and make precise adjustments.
3. SimplySiti Pesona Merdeka Launch Week
Executing the "SimplySiti Pesona Merdeka Launch Week" project, which involves creating a poster and a motion outro using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects, presents various challenges that require strategic solutions. One major problem is maintaining brand consistency across different mediums—static and motion graphics. This is addressed by establishing a cohesive design language in Adobe Illustrator, where key elements such as logos, color schemes, and typography are meticulously crafted and standardized. Transitioning from static designs to dynamic animations in After Effects poses its own set of difficulties, particularly in creating smooth, engaging animations that align with the poster’s aesthetic. Utilizing After Effects' powerful tools like keyframing, easing, and pre-compositions helps in achieving seamless transitions and animations. Effective project management, regular progress updates, and incorporating feedback promptly ensure the project stays on track.
