Sample small group lesson. I would explain my expectations then the students would go slide by slide individually. Before moving to the next slide, they would check in with me.
Example mini-lesson for writing a summary. We discussed each slide and the final slide was frozen on the smart board so the students could look back at the important information.
Example of one of my lessons from my nonfiction reading unit. The students had an anchor chart in front of them and had to fill in things from the slides. Then, we were able to watch videos and point out the different signposts we learned about.
Examples of how we practiced vocabulary and what their quiz would look like.
Examples of a multi-step worksheet that has comprehension, summarizing, noticing, and finding the theme.
Holiday themed reading assignments.
Examples of nonfiction text we have read and summarized.
Informational books that I was able to read to enhance my teaching abilities.
These are pages from their reading folders. Each student had their own and would pull it out when needing assistance with any of these topics.
This is the students 40 book challenge. We challenged the students to read this many books by the end of the year. It encouraged the students to read more throughout the year.
