Second Year Retreat-

A students perspective,

In our second year retreat we learned about faith and happiness and many other topics surrounding this. To follow up we did activities which were fun and entertaining, such as guessing the thing by the symbols! Our speakers were Andrew and Laura from Tobar Nua. They did an amazing job at the storytelling and explaining of the different topics.

The part that stood out to me the most was Laura’s story and how she turned to God, she expressed how she felt God with her in a time of illness. My personal favourite was the part of the retreat was the games, they were interesting to take part in and watch.

My recommendations for next year's retreat would be to talk more about the actual meaning of faith and what it means to be faithful to someone or something, as this sector of the retreat lacked meaning. My faith has stayed the same after the retreat and I feel as though it was not affected in any way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the activities and events surrounding the retreat and I would do it again.

3rd Year Retreat - A students voice:

Dear Roscommon Herald,

For a school trip earlier this week, I went to a place in Co. Mayo called Knock and while I was there I was pleasantly surprised by the area.

First of all I didn't think I'd see a huge building like the Knock Basilica or the Massive 1.5 million tile mosaic. I also didn't know that Pope John Paul II or Pope Francis visited Knock but now I know that a small area in the middle of Ireland was visited by 2 of the most famous people in modern history.

I had a lovely time in Knock, its a grand spot out there and I even brought back a souvenir, Holy Water.

I would 100% recommend Knock to tourists of all ages.

Sincerely,

Matthew Mullooly
