Christmas Concert 2023Our 2023 Production "Disney's High School Musical"
Abbey Community College is delighted to present Disney' 'High School Musical' in 2023. Allow our wonderful students to take you to the idyllic high school in the USA, East High School. There are rules a-plenty and challenges for the students to face - A school where you are expected to 'stick to the status quo', where students' secrets are uncovered and new talents discovered.
Our fantastic cast has been on their own journey over the past four months. From auditions to rehearsals, learning lines and routines to costume fittings. Look how far you have come! You will cherish these memories amid the excitement, hard work and energy - it has been worth it.
Our students have been guided in this journey by two people who need specific mention. Viv Moran as Chorographer and Director, who has experience from
countless schools and societies including the Boyle Musical Society. Our own Lizi Hannon as Musical Director of all of the stage musicals that have been staged by Abbey Community College and the driving force behind our music department overseeing many concerts, masses, and helping talent flourish in our school.
A project like this takes a team. 'We're all in this together' is one of the songs you will hear in this production and that is certainly the way this production has happened. A full partnership with Staff, Parents, Students and not in small part the community of Boyle to which we are most grateful for their generosity in supporting our school with this musical.
In particular we say a Thank You to the many members of the Boyle Musical Society, for the advice and guidance on the many facets involved in putting this show together. We greatly appreciate the technical team, backstage crew, and orchestra this evening for their work and efforts to fine tune everything in preparation for the shows ahead.
We thank the committee of St. Joseph's Hall for the use of this facility to perform. All that is left to say is thanks to everyone who has been involved in the preparation of our show. Sit back, relax and break free from your worries and distractions. We hope you thoroughly enjoy the show!
