New Site:

We are please to announce that we will be opening a new site this season to support our taxpayers in the Newport area. Due to election support, the site will not be available for tax preparation until the second week in March.

New 2025:  irs.gov refund policy for paper checks

The IRS will no longer issue paper refund checks after September 30, 2025. This change is part of a broader effort to modernize how the government handles money, transitioning from old-fashioned paper-based payments to fast, secure electronic payments. The IRS, U.S. Treasury Department, and Social Security Administration (SSA) are moving to an all-electronic payment system to reduce fraud, speed up transactions, and cut administrative costs. This shift will affect millions of taxpayers, including those who are unbanked or living abroad. To ensure timely payment, taxpayers will need to provide their bank routing and account numbers or arrange for another electronic method. 

Site Closure:  Jacksonville sites have closed this season.  Cape Carteret has extended hours from 10-3 on Wednesdays.  

Energy Tax Credits - Many changes to tax law regarding Energy Tax Credits.  It is complicated and requires the Taxpayer to provide specific information on each item which qualifies.  Below is a link to the official website for determining if an item can be claimed and what information you must provide to the preparer in order for them to complete your return.  Please have the information available prior to your appointment.
