Power of Attorney's (POA) are required by AARP Tax-Aide for anyone acting on the behalf of another for the purposes of having their return prepared and/or e-filed.
POA's allowing a representative of the taxpayer to sign/efile the return must be legally drafted and notarized!
Below is the only version of a Power of Attorney document accepted by AARP Tax-Aide NC District 12.
It does not allow the taxpayers representative to sign on behalf of the taxpayer. It must be accompanied by the taxpayers photo ID and Social Security Card. The representative must also provide their photo id and SSN.
The document below can be printed or downloaded by hovering over the top right corner of the document display area and clicking on the small box with an arrow in it that appears.
Copies of these documents are available at each site.
