The morning view looking towards the sun across the lake in Pittville Park. This beautiful view gave me something to smile at most mornings whilst doing my daily run. It encouraged me to get out early not only so I could see the sun peeking through the trees, but also to take advantage of the park being much more empty at this time, making it easier to socially distance!

Pavement Plant Graffiti.. indicating name and position of native plants usually dismissed as “weeds”. To promote interest and education for the identification and conservation of our heritage flora and provide stimulation for those out and about on their (limited!) daily exercise.

In the early part of lockdown all children's pay areas were closed by local councils. The one shown is off Cold Pool Lane, Up Hatherley. The sign gives the reason for closure. I felt sad that little children could no longer play there.

This picture of the forecourt at Cheltenham Spa railway station was taken around 7am on a weekday when it should be really busy, yet only a solitary taxi suggests that the station is open. However, there were a few people in the vicinity, unlike me during my first lockdown visit at the same time of day on Tuesday 21 April when there were no cars. no travellers, a closed ticket and seemingly one member of staff!

This is a photograph of an empty basketball court, with two empty benches to the side of it. The lack of players and spectators in an area that should be brimming with life really struck me when I was out for my daily walk. I was experimenting with black and white film at the time and feel that this captured the bleakness and weirdness of the situation.

This photograph was taken on my old 35mm point and shoot camera, during one of the strangest visits to Tesco I have ever experienced. So many shelves were completely empty, social distancing was just being introduced and there was very loud party music playing. I felt like I was in an absurd dream. This shelf struck me in particular, there was no toilet paper left as everybody had been going crazy, stocking up on certain things. All that was left in the toilet paper section was one (open) packet of tissues. The tissues sat right in the middle, I don't know if they were deliberately placed, or if it just happened!

Chinese takeaways and supermarkets were losing a lot of custom at the time, because of where the virus began. I thought it was sad and poignant that they felt as if they had no choice but to close, so I took this photograph.

Police incident 32 of 23/3/20 Criminal Damage and Public Order. There have been many examples of the covid-19 crisis bringing out the best in communities and individuals. Unfortunately, it also brought out the worst in some people. This incident took place on the first day of lockdown. An unpleasant person put this sign spray-painted “Infected” outside a neighbour’s house, causing distress and alarm to a lot of people: the people living there, their friends and neighbours and to passers-by.

Going into my classroom, after the government had announced schools were to only remain open for key worker children, was the most surreal experience in my entire career as a teacher. I took the picture to post on the digital learning platform to tell the children how much they were missed.

The blue bells represent the fleeting existence and transience of our own lives. I took this photo early one morning during lockdown as the rain had amplified the sweet scent and the vivid colours that reminded me to make the most of every moment; especially during lockdown.

The Bench with a View at Selsley Common. This was my 1st ever visit to Selsley and was always aware of this bench. Selsley overlooks the River Severn and this was during sunset. The bench is I guess a sign of solitude, in what can only be considered times that are difficult. This was a bucket list capture for me, adding the sunset in to it made it even more meaningful.

Title - ‘Lockdown Sundown’
I took this photograph at the end of one of my daily walks as I walked down the hill towards the village. It symbolises, for me, the knowledge that when the sun sets each evening it will rise again the next day. The dandelion clock reminds us that time is never ending and that each seed represents hope for the future.

I realised that the lockdown may mean we don't get to go too far afield this year so on each daily lockdown walk I started taking photos of the flowers in the hedgerows and in the gardens I passed to remind me of the beauty the world still had to offer.

Feeling stuck inside and unable to explore the outside world has made me really appreciate the little joys over the last few months, and seeing this beautiful iridescent light cast over my bedroom floor one morning really put a smile on my face.

The photos with the police tape show one of the many playgrounds that was shut during lockdown. I keep going past it on my walks and find that this kind of picture will be an iconic image for the pandemic. This is why I wanted to capture the moment that will describe a part of history one day.

This is a photo I took on one of my daily walks during lockdown. It is a noticeboard in Royal Well in Cheltenham. It was a really sunny day. During the walks I would hardly see anyone else in the centre of town. This noticeboard seemed to sum up what was happening (or more like not happening) during lockdown. The world had come to a standstill and the future was uncertain.

The colourful work incorporating the NHS rainbow image was done by pupils at Lakeside School, Up Hatherley, who were attending at a time when most of their peers were staying at home. I liked the way passers-by were also invited to contribute to the display which was attached to the school's boundary fence.

The photo shows a "social distancing" sign, one of series at 2 metre intervals, glued to the footpath leading to the entrance to the Playhouse Day Nursery on Hatherley Road, Up Hatherley, Cheltenham. I included my shoes to give it scale!

This is a photograph of the M5 motorway, empty aside from one delivery van (I believe it was an Asda one). It was very surreal seeing the motorway so quiet and I thought it was very representative of the time that the only vehicle on the road was being driven by a key worker, still doing their thing in a world that was otherwise put on pause. This photo was taken on 35mm film.

I like the juxtaposition of graffiti being something naughty and illegal, but this particular piece is just giving people a polite reminder to do the right thing! I have recently noticed that the writing has been fading over time, as we are starting to forget how crazy things really were in the middle of lockdown.

This two-up, two-down terraced house was home to staff at a Cheltenham town centre restaurant for many years. This was also where they had to self-isolate in the early part of lock down. When it became clear that the restaurant would not re-open, they were moved out. The curtains were left open for the first time, and neighbours could see their living conditions. It was reported to both the police and the borough council as possible modern slavery. Too late unfortunately.

Sunrise at New Fancy Viewpoint. We got up in the dark to walk a few miles from home to see the sunrise from the viewing platform. It represents each new day of hope through the pandemic and the fact that we will get through this. Despite the negatives, the lockdown has given us all an opportunity to reflect and appreciate the very fundamentals of life.

A field with a view, Castle Hill in Brockworth faces out towards two of Gloucester's most noticeable Landmarks. Gloucester Royal Hospital and Gloucester Cathedral. This Horse placed itself wonderfully for framing those two landmarks on a hazy evening during sunset.

Daily dog walking on Minchinhampton Common. The whole common was empty other than us, and a beautiful sea of buttercups as far as the eye could see. Nature seemed to be at its finest during the lockdown.
