Cadets will be transported to the training area Friday evening, 29 May 2026, and transported back to St. John’s on Sunday, 31 May 2026. All costs related to training, meals, transportation, and accommodations are covered by the program. A general schedule is in the joining instructions, available in our file repository.
DRESS AND GEAR
- FTUs: On Saturday, cadets will wear their FTUs or “greens” including appropriate layers for outdoor training (parka, gloves, touque, wool socks, etc.).
- Civilian attire: During travel on Friday and Sunday, cadets will wear appropriate civilian attire.
- Packing: A detailed packing list will be included in the joining instructions.
- Adult Staff: At all times, CAF members will be in their work dress (cadpat).
DIETARY CONSIDERATIONS
Absolutely no nut products can be brought to this event. We must advise the officer in command (OIC) as early as possible of any special dietary restrictions/considerations. All accommodations will be made, religious or otherwise.
MEDICAL ADMININISTRATION FORMS (2)
Medication forms are available in the document library at the top of this page. They will also be printed and provided to cadets on Monday, 25 May 2026.
If your child requires emergency life-saving medication, such as an Epipen, it must be carried by them at drop-off. We will not be able to take them on this outing if they do not have their required medication.
FORM 1 - Parental Authorization For Medication Use: Cadets with prescription medication or over-the-counter medication must bring a completed Medication Administration Form to be provided upon arrival on Friday.
FORM 2 - Medication Self Management By Cadet: If cadets are able to manage and administer their own medication then you must also provide a completed Medication Self Management By Cadet form. If cadets require assistance with their medication, or if they arrive without this form, then medication will be retained by squadron staff and administered according to the Medication Administration Form.
NOTE ON CELLPHONES
Cell phones and other valuable personal items are not the responsibility of the program if lost or damaged. Access to phone charging will be limited, if available at all. Cadets may pack external phone charging devices/tools, but be aware that this is an outdoor event. Items kept in clothing or tents are at risk of exposure to water, rain, heat, cold, etc. If taking cellphones, personal devices and/or accessories, take necessary precautions to ensure your belongings are kept secure and protected.
