The NL Area Office has provided us with a detailed plan for our upcoming weekend event at Camp McCarthy in Carbonear, from 30 May 2025 to 1 June 2025.

Registration Deadline: 16 April 2025
Drop off: 6:00pm, Friday, 30 May 2025, 115 The Boulevard, St. John's (514 cadets will join "Bus 3")
Training Location: Camp McCarthy, Carbonear
Pick Up: approximately 3:00pm, Sunday, 1 June 2025, 115 The Boulevard, St. John's
NOTE: NO FOOD CAN BE CONSUMED WHILE IN TRANSPORTATION ON THE BUS. This is a restriction based on food allergies, and the availability of emergency medical services during transit. Cadets should eat supper before arriving at the pick-up location
OVERVIEW
The cadets will participate in a day-long training activity in Gander from 0800-1700 on Saturday, 31 May 2025. Cadets who are not local (including us) will be transported to the training area Friday evening, 30 May 2025, and transported back to St. John’s on Sunday, 1 June 2025. All costs related to training, meals, transportation, and accommodations are covered by the program. Cadets will not be permitted to leave and then later return to the activity, and local family/friends will not be permitted to visit. Requests for late arrival/departure may be considered on a case-by-case basis by submitting through the 514 Commanding Officer asap. DRESS
- FTUs: On Saturday, cadets will wear their FTUs or “greens” including appropriate layers for outdoor training (parka, gloves, touque, wool socks, etc.).
- Civilian attire: During travel on Friday and Sunday, cadets will wear appropriate civilian attire.
- Packing: A detailed packing list will be included in the joining instructions.
- Adult Staff: At all times, CAF members will be in their work dress (cadpat).
DIETARY CONSIDERATIONS
Absolutely no nut products can be brought to this event. We must advise the officer in command (OIC) as early as possible of any special dietary restrictions/considerations. All accommodations will be made, religious or otherwise.
MEDICAL ADMIN
Cadets with prescription medication or over-the-counter medication must bring a completed Medication Administration Form to be provided upon arrival on Friday. This form is included in the joining instructions.
