About Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is an important day of reflection to remember those who served in wartime and honour those lost. Both Canadians and Newfoundlanders have had significant involvement in war efforts, notably in the First and Second World Wars. Remembrance Day is observed annually on November 11th, commemorating the anniversary of the Armistice agreement which ended the First World War.
The Remembrance Day Parade is hosted by the Town of Petty Harbour in coordination with various community groups and organizations. The parade begins at St. George's Anglican Church in Petty Harbour and arrives at the Petty Harbour War Memorial. All parade members attend a memorial service, before returning to parade and proceeding to the community centre. The full parade details and schedule are below.
