A new year can often bring a lot of talk about setting goals for what we want to accomplish in the coming 12 months, but it is also important to look back and see where growth and change happened in the previous year. In the Bible, God's people often reflected and retold how God was faithful to them. Remembering God's goodness and faithfulness to us can help us trust him in the future.
Psalm 77:11-12 says:
"I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds."
This verse helps us learn that:
The Bible teaches us to pause and remember.
Remembering builds confidence.
Remembering doesn't erase hard stuff - God meets us in it.
Reflect on the past year and look forward to the new year using these prompts:
What is something you learned about Jesus last year?
What is a prayer that God answered last year?
What verse do you want to remember this year?
How do you hope to grow in your faith in 2026?
Pray and thank God for his faithfulness.
