Prof. Hyo-Sang Park is a professor and chair at Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea. He obtained his DDS and Orthodontic Specialist degree also from Kyungpook National University, both in 1988 and 1991. He completed his Master of Science and PhD degree in Oral Biology and Orthodontics from the same university both in 1991 and 1997 . He was a visiting professor at the University of Oklahoma from 2001 until 2002. 

Prof. Park did pioneer work and extensive researches on the development of microimplants since 1999. His research experience were also associated with immunohistochemical studies on the expression of the neurotransmitter following tooth movement and growth studies using rats as experimental animal. Prof. Park has been using microimplants for 26 years and has written more than 100 international articles, 7 textbooks, and 8 chapters about microimplants. His articles were cited in the orthodontic journals over 9,500 times and his three articles ranked 2nd, 45th, and 65th in “The most-cited articles in orthodontic journals in the last 20 years” by AJODO in 2021.
