Dr. Daljit Gill is a Consultant Orthodontist at Great Osmond Street Hospital for Children and a Honorary Consultant Orthodontist at the Eastman Dental Hospital, both in London, UK. He has practiced as an Orthodontic Specialist for 25 years and developed numerous interests including the management of craniofacial deformity, orthognathic surgery, functional appliances, and smile aesthetics. He has over 65 publications and has published 5 text books, including Orthognathic Surgery: Principles, Planning and Practice; Orthodontic at a Glance; Hypodontia: A Team Approach to Management; and The Preadjusted Edgewise Appliance: Principles and Practice. Dr. Daljit Gill is currently undertaking a part-time PhD comparing fixed and removable functional appliances.

Excessive toothwear is a common problem in children and adults with many etiological factors. It can result in a deterioration in aesthetics, functional concerns, sensitivity and in severe cases tooth loss. During this session, I will give an overview of toothwear for the orthodontist, discuss its management with particular focus on the role of the orthodontist within a multidisciplinary team.

As a consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Daljit Gill is a member of the Craniofacial team and has gained considerable experience in the management of Craniosynostosis. In this session, I will discuss the main features of syndromic craniosynostosis, the role of the orthodontist and a number of complex cases will be shown to demonstrate the role of orthodontics within a multidisciplinary team with an emphasis on surgical procedures.
