Choose 3-4 Symbols that are relevant to you and arrange them on a page in a formation. Think about colour scheme and your mood board. Take a photo of it and send to yourself.

Adjust contrast and repeat pattern

Open in Photoshop on a new template. Use CTRL + A, C, V to copy and paste your symbol to repeat and create a page of patterns. Save this page as we will continue to reference back to this and use the pattern in coming pages. Open a new page and place pattern as background and dull the opacity down.

Create a WHANAU title repeating the process from first page if you wish. This time I took photos of the letters individually and cut them out on photoshop to practice techniques.

Send images to yourself and insert on Photoshop. Draw a shape around these and insert portraits on your page. Insert text appropriate e.g. Ko____ toku _____. Give the text a background box to break up the colour- could incorporate colour from the first page to create cohesion.

Attach final page to your Zine.
