Introduction to Onedrive
Everyone needs to use Onedrive to share and save their work this year. This is a cloud that we use at NPGHS and means that you can shift from devices and not lose your work. It also means that I can access your folders once shared for marking and feedback.
Create a Folder with your name and 10DVA and share with me :)
Task 1 : Camera Phone activity
Head out around the school and complete an alphabet photography exercise. You will take photos to represent each letter of your first and last name.
These images will be used for follow on activity so try your best!
Add images to Onedrive folder
•Open the browser on your phone and google Onedrive. (Download the app if you can)
•Click the link and login using your school email address and password.
•Create a new folder called Alphabet Photography activity.
•Open this folder.
•Head to upload and select files to upload.
•These Photos will now all be uploaded to your onedrive and able to be accessed and downloaded to use on any device that you are working on. You can also share images or files from onedrive with your teacher. This will all be demonstrated for you.
•Please share your images from the camera phone exercise to: mmaton@npghs.school.nz
DOWNLOAD ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD SUITE-
Install Photoshop
•This is your first introduction to photoshop. Watch the first tutorial on CC about opening files and creating a new page.
•There is also a tutorial on introduction to layers. You will use the same techniques as the collage and open> cut and paste material on new layers and arrange this in formation of your name.
When you have completed this – flatten the image using Image> Flatten image and save as name activity and make sure this is a .jpg on onedrive and share with your teacher to print
USB
•You should all have a USB now, I have spares if you need to be provided one.
•You will plug this usb into my computer and create a new folder for editing onto your USB titled "Photoshop editing". You will copy images provided by your teacher into this folder. You will then take this back to your device and drag (or copy and paste) that folder onto your computer or into your onedrive. I will help with this.
•This folder of images will be used for basic photoshop editing techniques so it is important that you have these images and it is named correctly. Think about naming folders and images so they are easy to locate and not just ejhfalsahflakf.jpg sak.jpg
COLOUR CORRECTION EXPERIMENTING
•You will experiment with Image > adjustments> levels to try to correct exposure on these images provided.
Filter> Camera Raw Filter > temperature/tint (have a play with all the settings)
Also use: dodge and burn tool
•Overexposed
•Underexposed
Use colour balance and photofilters to neutralise the tone of your images.
•Colour balance
Choose one image to use image adjustments and black and white to create a black and white image. These generally need a bit more contrast so you can use levels to achieve this or Brightness/contrast
