Mission Statement

Balboa Middle School’s Comprehensive School Counseling Program will provide all students with equitable opportunities for growth in academic, social and emotional, and career readiness domains.  In partnership with all stakeholders and a caring community, the school counseling program will offer all students opportunities to explore their passions, resolve obstacles, and contribute to their community.

Vision Statement

The vision of Balboa Middle School’s Comprehensive School Counseling Program is for all students to successfully create a balanced life with challenging opportunities that equip them to successfully navigate their future lives.  Students will complete high school with a sense of belonging, accomplishment, excitement, and a plan for their future.  They will feel connected, self-reliant, creative, and will make positive contributions as members of their community.

About Balboa

Established in 1961, Balboa Middle School currently serves 1,075 students in grades six through eight following a traditional calendar.  We tailor our programs to meet the needs of students in their transitional years from the self-contained classroom environment of an elementary school to the departmentalized program of a secondary school.  The Balboa community focuses on student learning and progress, resulting in a campus with few behavior concerns and distractions.
