VCU GEO Passport Photos

VCU’s Global Education Office is pleased to announce that they are now equipped to provide passport photos and will begin offering one U.S. passport-style photograph to current VCU students free of charge! They hope to increase accessibility to study abroad by removing this barrier for students. Students in need of passport-style photographs for any purpose are eligible to receive one free photo and must schedule a time during designated hours.

This service will be available the first Tuesday of every month from 1 - 3 p.m. and the third Wednesday of every month from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Global Education Office located at 912 W. Grace Street on the 4th floor.

They ask that students sign up for a 15-minute time slot by completing the Passport Photo Sign-up form here and sign-ups are first-come, first-serve. This service is also available to all VCU faculty and/or staff members using the same scheduling system at $5.00 per photo.

Romania Adult & Juvenile Osteology Lab Workshops

These 4-week long Adult Osteology Research Workshop and Juvenile Osteology Research Workshops will train students to conduct osteological analyses and frame appropriate research questions. The combination of an exceptionally rich and well preserved skeletal research collection, the intensive hands-on laboratory training, and relatively small research groups will ensure that each participant develops an extensive osteological skill set.

These programs provide an unique opportunity to conduct extensive hands-on training and research on an exceptional osteological collection. Their research collections come from five archaeologically excavated medieval lost churches around the town of Odorheiu Secuiesc (Transylvania, Romania), as well as from our on-going medieval “Lost Church” excavation at Patakfalva (RO: Valeni), Harghita County, Romania.

Undergraduate and graduate academic credits can be acquired separately from University of South Florida (although it is not mandatory to register for credits to participate in our programs) – USF deadlines apply.
