Registration Updates

Have a hold on your account?

If you are unable to register for courses, it may be due to a hold on your account. You can check if you have a hold at the top of DegreeWorks and find out the kind of hold in eServices. Here is a list of holds you may see on your account and who to contact to resolve the issue.

If you have a hold on your account, you can still drop a class - just not via e-services. You can drop from courses by either going in person at the Student Services Center in Harris Hall during their office hours (https://ssc.vcu.edu/), or by emailing rar@vcu.edu with your V-number and the information for the course you wish to drop - including the course number and either the section number or CRN for the course. You must email from a VCU email address and your email must be received by rar@vcu.edu prior to 11:59pm on Monday, January 22.

Biology overrides

The Biology department handles overrides for Biology courses only. Different departments have different policies and processes. Here is the page for our Biology override policies and the form you can fill out to request an override. Please note that size overrides are not typically granted.
