Newsela - Science & Social Studies only

Newsela is a web-based application that takes authentic, real-world content from trusted sources and packages it to pair with content in social studies and science classrooms.  Texts are available in five different reading levels to support each learner.  

VBCPS has a paid subscription (for science and social studies) and the program fully integrates within Canvas.  

Newsela is accessible from the course navigation menu in Canvas courses.   Students will not be able to access Newsela from the ClassLink LaunchPad. 

NOTE - If Newsela doesn't appear in the course navigation menu for your Canvas course, your teacher will need to adjust the navigation settings before you can access it.
