VBCPS has authorized access to certain AI programs as of November 5, 2025.
Students will be given access to Google Gemini from the hours of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and teachers are encouraged to implement AI into education.

Restrictions
Students may only use Gemini from the hours of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, to ensure students are using AI only under the supervision of teachers.
In addition, the "Traffic Light" system identifies the level of AI use for students on assignments.
Students should assume all assignments are AI usage level 0, no AI use, unless otherwise specified by the teacher.

Using Google Search vs. AI
Both Google Search and AI are useful tools, but are used in different situations. AI may not give sources and may hallucinate, so it is best used in conjunction with pre-existing knowledge. Google Search is useful for research, but does not have the ability to synthesize information like AI.
