As a teacher you currently have unlimited storage in your VBSchools Google Drive. There are three benefits of using your Google Drive. Your files are accessible to you anywhere you can log into Google. Google files are compatible with Chromebooks, therefore your students do not need to perform multiple steps to access and interact with documents you share with them. And lastly, a portable hard drive will eventually break, if you have your files stored in Google Drive you will not lose anything because there is nothing to break.
If you leave the VBCPS school system you lose access to your Google Drive. Therefore, if you are planning to transfer school divisions or planning to retire, you must download your files before you leave. As soon as your employment ends, so does your Google Account. See the directions below on how to download or transfer ownership of your files (Google Takeout).
