INSTRUCTIONS
Documents (former school transcript(s) in pdf only, Personal Statement essays, Supplemental Essays) requested by the College and Career Counselor are to be generated in a Google doc (essays only) to be added to our shared Google folder for post-secondary planning, or uploaded to Maia Learning (transcripts only).
Updates on colleges/university's selection must all be recorded in Maia Learning. All college information should be completely filled in to alert the Counselor of your intentions for Early Decision (ED I or II), Early Action (EA I or II), Restrictive Early Action (REA), or Regular Decision (RD).

Internal Deadlines
FALL SEMESTER 2023
D2: University Counseling Guidelines and Expectations for Class of 2024 MUST be signed by student and parent/guardian by 1 August
Required appointment with the College and Career Counselor for
D2 students 14 August - 20 October
OPTIONAL - D1 students 23 October - 1 December (Students interested in medicine or law must meet in the first month of school)
US Essay/UK Personal Statement (average of 5 drafts before review)
draft 1 ED/EA admission by 15 September
draft 1 regular admission to U.S. or UK by 29 September
final draft ED/EA by 20 October
final draft regular admission to the U.S. by 1 December
Counselor Form completed for a counselor recommendation letter
ED I/EA I/REA on 29 September
ED II/ EA II/ Regular admission to the U.S. by 1 November
Teacher Recommendation/Reference Letter Requests
Cambridge/Oxford and most courses in medicine, veterinary medicine/science, and dentistry on 30 September (shared Google doc)
ED/EA to the U.S. on 1 September (Maia)
Regular admission to the U.S. on 8 November (Maia)
Recommendation Brag Sheet for your teachers
ED II/EA II/RD Common Application submissions are due by 23 December
Maia Learning Accounts will be locked 20 December (no changes after this date without an in person meeting with your College and Career Counselor)
Submit request for to be considered for campus nomination by 8 September (for scholarships with a deadline by 1 January)
15 January for scholarships with a deadline after 1 January
Must include explanation of why you are best suited to receive the school nomination and your CV/resume

TRANSCRIPTS - 9th and 10th grade translated into English and certified due by April 19th unless other arrangements have been made
D2 Decisions
U.S. schools May 1 deadline but strongly encourage all students applying to Canada and UK to commit if possible to start the visa application process
ALL decision and financial aid letters must be submitted to the College and Career Counselor, AND update ALL application outcomes in Maia Learning (Application Status) prior to graduation (May TBD)
D2 - SEVIS Registration & Interview Date for a Visa
Highly recommended no later than 10 May
D1s - Complete University Counseling Guidelines and Expectations with parents/guardians by the end of your the long break for the 2024-2025 College Admissions Cycle.
