New version of Global Citizen Year and Update to Take Action Lab
Some exciting news from Global Citizen Year (May 2024):
Take Action Lab is expanding! Beginning in 2025, we’ll be launching a new climate and environment focused curriculum in a new country; and
They are officially unveiling our new branding and name – Tilting Futures!
Global Citizen Year will now be part of our new, larger Tilting Futures brand. As we move forward under this new name, Tilting Futures will continue to house Take Action Lab, as well as alumni programming for Global Citizen Year Fellowship, Academy, and Take Action Lab graduates.
Tilting Futures was created with significant input from students, alumni, parents, partners and donors. They believe Tilting Futures reflects their collective optimism that young people can transform themselves, their communities, and the direction of the wider world. They know that young people, when given the tools to turn their ideals into action, can create the new pathways, perspectives, and solutions our world needs. Exciting South African Adventure
Under the guidance of local human rights advocates, students will gain hands–on experience tackling global issues from the ground up. Together with a diverse cohort of peers from around the world, Take Action Lab students will develop the resilience, empathy, and agency to fuel a purpose-driven future.
Eligibility will include students worldwide post-high school, ages 17 to 21! As always, we’re committed to advancing equity and opportunity, and will provide need-based Davis Scholarship funding for UWC applicants!
