Scavenger Hunt

You've observed several tutors in several sessions over the past few weeks and you've gotten a good sense of the general structure and pacing of sessions. Now start looking for approaches to specific situations. This week, find the following: 

• A strategy for when a student requests a "grade check." 

• A strategy for when a student needs more hand-holding than usual

• A strategy for when a student admits to using work done by others online or AI

• A resource you'd feel comfortable using in sessions with students. This could be a book or an online resource. Here's the challenge: find something other ChatGPT!

• A few go-to questions that you can ask when you're not sure what to do next (with a student).

If you don't see these situations in your observations, talk to some of the experienced consultants about their approaches.
