Online learning is very different from in-person instruction. Combine that with our inability to observe our students in person, and that leaves us in need of your assistance in two main areas:
Monitoring the Student's Engagement in School
Monitoring the Student's School Performance
Those two monitoring tasks are closely related, but there are subtle differences. Engagement is about what the student is doing, whereas performance is about how the student is doing. We explain the subtleties the pages that follow.
After completing this section, quite a few monitoring tips and tools will be in your Learning Coach toolbox. Those tools will assist you as you guide and support your child at home. Plus, you will recognize when it is time to ask for help or to communicate a significant observation to our teachers so that we can address your child's hidden needs.
