The UVA Canvas Training course includes several video demonstrations of commonly used features in Canvas. The videos are from the original Canvas training modules but contain useful information.
The video "Navigating Your Course Homepage" is in the UVA Canvas Training course. It describes the home page (or front page) of a course.
A course homepage is where teachers provide their contact information and access to highlighted course features. It is also where a standard set of Canvas links are located to navigate through the course to access lessons, grades, etc.
The video "Tracking Your Completion in Canvas" is the UVA Canvas Training course, and it explains how to track assignment completion in the student's account. Tracking completion on a daily basis allows students and Learning Coaches to stay on pace with the assignment schedule, which is important for a student's success in school.
Assessing a student's rate of lesson completion (i.e., whether or not an assignment or assessment was submitted or whether or not an assignment was viewed if the lesson was strictly reading material) is a measure of a student's engagement in school.
Please ensure your child understands the importance of this measure and knows how to track assignment completion.
NOTE: Observer accounts have a unique feature to generate a list of all MISSING assignments across all courses. Details are provided on the next page.
