Dr. Richard Bosworth, Concert Pianist and Artist Teacher
Richard Bosworth brings to the concert stage a broad spectrum of musical tastes and experiences. His travels have taken him to nearly every major continent as a piano recitalist, concerto soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and competitor. Upon receiving a BM in Piano from the Eastman School in Rochester, NY, he went on to get his graduate degrees, MM and DM in Piano, from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. He worked with Barry Snyder, Balint Vazsonyi, Michel Block, and Leonard Hokanson as well as coached with Menahem Pressler, Gyorgy Sebok, and members of the Borodin Trio. Bosworth’s career highlights include a performance at the White House by invitation of President Clinton and a debut of the first interactive music program aired over the Internet at Lincoln Center. He has played live radio broadcasts from the studios of WQXR (New York), Sirius Satellite (New York), and WGBH (Boston). His interpretations of the orchestral masterworks have equally garnered praise from such conductors as Erich Kunzel (Cincinnati Pops) and Keith Lockhart (Boston Pops). Other musical activities include maintaining a global studio practice where he mentors students in preparation for major showcase events (with the latest being the Miami Chopin Competition). He happens to specialize and is nationally certified in remote instruction—participants from North America, Europe, and Asia attend his online classes. Richard is so glad to be here and share in the festivities of our 50th anniversary celebrations of the church’s founding. He used to be our pianist and music director from 2003-2015. www.richardbosworth.org.
