Exceptions may be made by the band instructor.Instrumental Music (band) is for students interested in being in an organization that will involve you in many school activities. The band marches at all home varsity football games, and performs at all home varsity basketball games. The band also supports the sports teams if they have the opportunity to play in playoffs. Currently, the band performs two formal concerts a year, plays at graduation, and attends two contests. Grading is based on effort displayed in the classroom and attendance record at the required performances. Exceptions may be made by the band instructor and must also be taking instrumental music concurrently. Jazz Band is a performance class in which students will practice and study the fundamentals, history, and style of jazz, including improvisation and modern styles. Through ensemble rehearsals and individual practice, students will prepare and perform a variety of music in concerts and other settings. Drama II Duration: .5 creditPrerequisites: Drama I or instructor’s permissionThis is a semester long course for students who want to increase their acting abilities. They will look at the acting process and begin to look at how to block scenes and direct plays. In addition, each class member will participate (either onstage or off) in the LHS Spring production. CN1124s Drama III Duration: .5 creditPrerequisites: Drama II or instructor’s permissionIn this semester class students continue to build on the acting process and begin to explore different American classics as well as diving into improvisation.CN1130f Drama IV Duration: .5 creditPrerequisites: Drama IIIDuring this semester students will look further into the acting process by looking into the GOTE process. Students will also look at Classical theater productions and American Film and finally finish with their student directed project.
