Advanced Art – Principles of Illustration

Principles of Illustration explores a variety of media, tools, and techniques to visually communicate ideas. Topics include an understanding of illustration as applicable to careers in graphic design, animation, apparel/textile design, industrial design, web design, architecture, interior design, and fine arts. Techniques in traditional and digital illustration applications will be explored as linked to ever-changing social trends.

Graphic Design Fundamentals

Graphic Design 1 provides a basic understanding of the graphic design process. Topics include analyzing the design elements and principles, exploring industry tools, software, and equipment, and learning composition techniques to develop a quality product.

Photo Imaging

Photo Imaging teaches the technical skills needed to produce quality images for use in a variety of applications. Topics include use of equipment, software, and technical and creative aspects of capturing, editing, and presenting images including the use of artificial intelligence. The course integrates hands-on activities, critical thinking, problem-solving skills to develop students into
proficient and imaginative photographers.

Advanced Graphic Design

Prerequisites: grades 11/12 –Graphic Design Fundamentals Students will apply the basic fundamental knowledge and apply to a simulation of real-life employment. Learned skills will be utilized as means of problem solving, learning academic foundations, communications, understanding safety, health and environmental factors.
Leadership and teamwork will also be applied.
