This opportunity is available every academic year in Spring for any faculty needing to make their courses digitally accessible.
The Digital Accessibility Fellowship is open to all USD full- and part-time faculty, regardless of location (e.g., the residential campus, USD CCSF, or online) and modality of instruction (e.g., on campus, online, hybrid, etc.). Faculty receiving training for specialists and experts in digital accessibility and followed by one-on-one assistance and support with making course content accessible with a goal of 85% or higher course compliance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines reported by Ally for D2L.
Synchronous instructor-led training will take place for two hours each day for five days. Participants may attend in person or via Zoom. Optional one-on-one consultation with a CTL staff member is available and optional support from a CTL staff member while preparing the course and during the semester the course is taught.
The 2025 fellowship was held May 19 - May 23, 2025 from 1-3pm.
Applications are accepted in March - April for May sessions with a completion date of mid-June to be eligible for the paid stipend. Selection will be based on the quality of the stated goals, the course’s accessibility report data, the number of documents in the course, the number of students affected, and the letter of support. Only one stipend is available per class; however, we encourage those facilitating team-taught courses to apply with multiple or all instructors participating.
