Development Opportunities for Graduate Students
The Graduate School and the Center for Teaching and Learning have partnered to offer USD Graduate Students professional development opportunities. They hosted a Development Opportunities for Graduate Students: information session on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 5-6pm CST to explain the Graduate Student Success Series (GS3) and Graduate Teaching Series (GTS).

About the GS3: The Graduate School has worked with a select group of faculty and staff to create a series of professional development workshops that will offer a coordinated effort for enhancing professional development across targeted topics and engagements for the entire University community of graduate students here at USD. The series will provide opportunities for students to better meet industry and academic expectations.

About the GTS: The CTL is excited to help USD graduate students prepare for their futures, whether that will be teaching in front of a classroom or involved with cutting-edge research in a laboratory. We have created this workshop series through collaboration with instructors from around USD’s campus in order to develop graduates who are self-confident, prepared, and engaged with teaching.

Earn a Digital Badge
Both the GS3 and the GTS provide graduate students the opportunity to earn a digital badge via USD's Digtial Badging Program. For more detailed information on the requirements of each program, please visit the specific GS3 or GTS page.
What is a Digital Badge?
A verifiable credential which allows you to share information about the skills and competencies you acquired through these programs.
Useful to hiring managers—especially in a skills-based approach.
Provide a clearer idea of skill level, knowledge base, and a candidate's general qualification for the role.
Indicate a level of trust for the validity of the skill, knowledge, and ability in question.
