All About Me Book
To be used during ELL pull-out
This upcoming year I am going to have all my students create a book on Writereader.com. Below is an example of a bilingual all about me book that I created. Student's have the option to record themselves reading the book in any language.
Recipes Around the World
To be used in the general education classroom
All students in the class bring in a family recipe. Students can bring the recipe in whatever language they want but will have to give a presentation on it in English. Students will share the recipe and a story about their family to go with it. The recipes will be collected by the teacher and compiled together so that each student can take home a copy of all the recipes. To gain awareness to where the countries are that students, their families, or their ancestors are from the teacher can display a map for the class. Additionally, the teacher can provide students with a blank map of the world. After each presentation of a food from a new country students will color in that country on their map.
