Jaderick (hear the proper pronounciation) is a faculty member of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, where he has served the national research university for more than 25 years through teaching, research, and public service. His scholarship bridges computational intelligence and systems optimization, applying these methods to diverse fields such as agriculture, environmental management, and engineering.
Throughout his career, he has mentored over 140 undergraduate and more than 20 graduate students, many of whom have gone on to pursue advanced studies and contribute to the country’s scientific and technological development. His intellectual productivity is reflected in over 150 scholarly publications and presentations, a testament to his enduring pursuit of knowledge creation and dissemination.
For his pioneering contributions, he was recognized in 2008 as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Scientists by the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines—a distinction awarded to researchers who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their respective fields. He has also received 25 research awards acknowledging the societal and scientific impact of his works.
