Binondo At Night
On March 6, 2023, my classmate Unicharmed and I decided to do a photo walk in Binondo, Manila. As we wandered through the streets, the night began to embrace the city with its cool air. In this photograph, I wanted the bridge to be the focal point, leading the viewer's eye through the frame using the leading lines. The symmetry of the bridge's architecture and the reflections in the river below create a pleasing balance and sense of harmony. I just love how the warm lights are mirrored perfectly and smoothly on the water's surface!
My goal in this photo was to include as many compelling elements as possible within the composition: the striking reflections, towering surrounding buildings, and the sky transitioning from dusk to night's deep tones. When I look at this photo, it feels like I'm right back there, standing at the edge of the river, feeling the night air on my face. It's more than just an image; it's a memory, a slice of life from a place that pulses with energy and history. And I think that's what photography is all about—freezing a moment that says something and sharing it with others.
