ETEN Annual Meeting, Kristianstad, Sweden. The European Teacher Education Network brings together coordinators and working group representatives to coordinate the network's activities for the academic year 2023-2024. Other network innovations related to increasing staff and student mobility will be updated on the network website, allowing registration of international weeks or summer schools for members.

A roundtable discussion was held near the Academic Senate Hall regarding the objectives of the EMI project for the introduction of the module as a separate subject in the teaching programs in the faculties of technical and natural sciences and humanities. The meeting was held by the Rector Prof. Roland Zisi and the project coordinator Eva Cipi. Representatives of the departments of computer science, mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry participated., as well as representatives of the departments of Albanian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages, and Education from the Faculty of Education. It was discussed and most of the departments positively assessed this initiative for the introduction of the EMI module into the programs.
July 13, 2023 - the first preparatory activity of the EMI project ends
Two questionnaires were conducted for students and academic staff, as well as a draft program for the EMI program. Next will be round tables to discuss the draft program for its integration into master's programs.
June 26, 2023 - Workshop on Music Education for the Development of Creative Skills by Prof. Lizqa Lee, Taiwan University
Within the framework of the agreement of understanding and cooperation with Chaoyang University of Technology, Taiwan, at the invitation of the Rector, Professor Roland Zisi, UV had the pleasure of having Professor Liza Lee as a guest professor at the Department of Education, for a period of one week. According to the agenda, Professor Lee held a series of open lectures at the premises of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies for Regional Development as well as a training workshop with teachers, staff and students entitled: "Holistic musical educational approaches for young children on multiple developments".
Dr. Liza Lee is Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Professor in the Department of Early Childhood Development and Education at Chaoyang University of Technology in Taichung, Taiwan. Professor Lee also serves as the Director of the Research Center for Holistic Early Childhood Development and Holistic Early Childhood Music Education Approach, Consultant for the Center for the Study of Music and Culture at the New York Institute for Social Research, CYUT-affiliated Kindergarten and Early Intervention, Taiwan Fund Center for Children and Families, and is the ECO- coordinator of the ETEN network for Chaoyang University of Technology. She is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, where she received her doctorate in music and music education. Professor Lee conducts research in both early childhood music education and music educational therapy in the treatment of children with disabilities. Her internationally recognized expertise was also appreciated by the participants in this activity.
At the same time, Professor Lee also felt appreciated and, among other things, emphasized:
"I am very excited to come here at the invitation of the Rector of UV and have the opportunity to be a guest professor and share my knowledge with the enthusiastic participants in the presentation of the lecture series. The lively atmosphere at the University of Vlora "Ismail Qemali" made the experience even more rewarding. The engagement and active participation of the attendees truly demonstrated their dedication to learning and personal growth. Together, we explored various thought-provoking topics, exchanged ideas and fostered a sense of collaboration and innovation. The warm welcome and positive feedback I received further emphasized the impact of the seminar. I am grateful to the University of Vlora "Ismail Qemali" for organizing this event and providing a platform for intellectual exchange. It was a great experience unforgettable experience that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression, both on the participants and on me."

Ismail Qemali University Vlora is a member of the EUCEN network (European University Association of Economic Universities of South and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea Region), an association where UV actively participates in all organizations and activities organized within this framework among the 61 member universities of the network.
UV Rector Prof. Dr Roland Zisi, participates in the 53rd EUCEN University Network Conference which takes place at Utrecht University, Holland, on May 31 and June 1, 2023. UV continues to be part of the EUCEN network for more than 15 years, actively contributing to internationalization and the creation of institutional and academic partnerships. The main topic of the Conference for 2023 was the field of Lifelong learning studies, in Higher Education institutions in European countries.
The focus on University Continuing Education (UCE), is mainly related to the impact of empowerment and collaboration: UCE WITH IMPACT: THE POWER OF CONNECTION. The conference proceedings will continue for two days with workshops and round tables on specific topics: how to create UCE, UCE laboratories, how to support universities in LLL activities, the potential of UCE for third cycle studies, interdisciplinary faculties to overcome barriers, development of competencies through extracurricular activities, etc.

UCTM-UV: two-day workshop on scientific research with impact on sustainable development
Within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Ismail Qemali University of Vlora and the University of Chemical and Metallurgical Technologies, Sofia, Bulgaria, on December 9 and 10, 2019, a workshop was held on the topic: Academic Research with Impact on Regional Development. This meeting was the result of close cooperation between the Regional Development Center and the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Physics at the Faculty of Technical Sciences with the Faculty of Organic and Physical Chemistry at UCTM. Scientific researchers from the academic staff from both partner institutions presented and discussed scientific work with a significant impact on the development of the country and the region. Many meetings and exchanges of experiences took place during the two days of the workshop with concrete proposals for further initiatives in projects in areas of common interest regarding the development of master's level study programs in policy education for a sustainable environment, capacity building for studies in the field of renewable energies, staff and student mobility mainly in teaching practices in laboratories and familiarization with modern equipment.

The Albanian Competition Authority organized the seminar on the topic “Getting to know competition and its challenges”, with the support of the “Ismail Qemali” State University in Vlora and its goal was to familiarize the academic community with the principles and rules for free and effective competition in the market. The seminar focused on three main areas:

Ismail Qemali University represented by Eva Cipi, Director of RDC, Eloina Tozaj Director of Human Resources and Communication, as well as Administrator Mirela Duka, participates in the General Assembly of the Mediterranean Universities Network that was organized in Cyprus near the Eastern Mediterranean University. Important decisions were: In 2021 the assembly of 167 Mediterranean Universities * CMU, will be organized in Vlora, Albania and will be an important event for our institution. UV is designated as the CMU coordination office for Albania. Coordination will be near the regional development center.

During October 22 and 23, 2019 in Durres, organized by EACEA Brussels and Erasmus Plus Office Tirana, the Erasmus Plus Cluster Meeting for CBHE projects for Western Balkan universities was held. The TEAVET project was presented as one of the three most successful projects that are being developed where UV is a partner. The coordinator was Javier Vidal from the University of Leon in Spain and Eva Cipi as co-coordinator from the Albanian partner universities.

Ismail Qemali University of Vlore through its representatives Eva Cipi as the applicant of the entrance and Yllka Bilushi as the representative of the Academic Senate participates in the international conference of the 31st anniversary of Magna Charta Universitatum as one of the 16 signatory universities of the network among 800 well-known universities throughout the academic world. UV is the first Albanian public university to be accepted into this network after a 2-month application of self-assessment of quality according to the MC standards and approved by the Observatory as a mechanism of quality control and monitoring. It is also followed by other important Albanian universities such as UT and UPT.

September 4 and 5, 2019 Gjirokaster Albania
An information meeting was held at the Eqerem Cabej University in Gjirokaster within the framework of the TEAVET project with the participation of 9 Albanian and European partners. Within the framework of the WP4 package, the evaluation of the pilot courses by the partner Ministry of Education was reported and the methodologies for the implementation of the training courses were defined. The results dissemination packages were also evaluated and tasks were defined. Eva Cipi as project co-coordinator and Mariglena Meminaj as institutional coordinator participated in this working meeting.

AFRIMED in action. During two weeks, the work packages for the dissemination and allocation of cysticercosis populations in the protected area of Karaburun and Sazan were developed with the Working Group composed of Saimir Beqiraj, Ina Nasto, Eva Cipi, Hajdar Kicaj, Lefter Kashta, etc. All data was structured in a database for further actions under this project.

This conference brought together rectors and representatives of universities from all over the world that are signatories to this charter. The ceremony was made public with a grand court of rectors in the monumental city square of Bologna.

Meeting for the exchange of experience and success stories between UV and the Swiss project Skills for Work.

Today, on 22/01/2020, in the premises of the Rectorate, Prof. Dr. Roland Zisi hosted representatives of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation for an important working meeting in the framework of activities aimed at exchanging experience and success stories between UV and the Skills for Work project. Present were Ms. Borana Barjami - Manager of learning through work in the "Skills for Work" Project and Swisscontact, Mr. Boris Alibali - Consultant for the "Skills for Work" Project and Swisscontact. The meeting coordinator, Ms. Ines Troqe as regional manager for the Skills for Work S4J project and Ms. Borana Barjami presented the purpose of the meeting by specifying the three main issues.
Recognition and sharing of the complete set of documents for the development of professional practices and internships in businesses and companies operating in the region.
Mediation between UV and the Vlora Employment Offices within the framework of the Employment Promotion program for UV graduates;
Positioning UV as an intermediary between leading companies in the market and job-seeking students. A typical case is the request for employees from Balfin Group which will soon be presented by UV in the media and social networks.
At the end of the meeting, after discussion, upon the proposal of UV Rector, Prof.Dr. Roland Zisi, it was agreed to design and sign a Cooperation Agreement between UV and the Swiss Skills for Work project. Also, these initiatives were assessed as very important for UV at a time when the institution is fully engaged in the accreditation process for achieving the objectives of the institution's strategy regarding the increase of its developmental and transforming role in society in the region and beyond through the implementation of the third mission activities, in addition to those of education and scientific research.

A 2-day training seminar was launched at the Radhime Visitor Center for the protected areas in the Bay of Vlora to raise community awareness about the importance of the cistuseira and its importance for the fauna of the bay. Experts from the Afrimed team spoke about the protocols for afforestation with cistuseira as a scientific experiment of particular importance for the waters of the bay.

The first assembly of the network of teacher training centers was held at the RDC to establish the coordinating committee of the training centers. 31 participants for two days representing their respective institutions approved important documents such as the statute and regulations of the partnership, the plan of activities for the two years of the first assembly, strengthening the cooperation between the centers created under the project.
