Students will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness the week of March 9th. Students will take the English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) and Mathematics assessments. Attendance at school during testing is extremely important; please avoid or reschedule appointments during those days as well.
The English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) assessments will focus on writing effectively when analyzing text. Mathematics assessments will focus on applying skills and concepts, understanding multi-step problems that require abstract reasoning, modeling real-world problems, and demonstrating precision, perseverance, and the strategic use of tools. Students will demonstrate their acquired skills and knowledge in both content areas by answering selected response items and fill-in-the-blank questions.
In the fall, you will receive information about your student’s performance on the state tests. These results assist us in planning actions to achieve our academic goals at each grade level.
Please help your student be successful by:
Make sure student laptops are fully charged. Many students do not bring chargers to school every day, so please make sure your student has one and is bringing it.
Students should arrive at school by 8:35 a.m..
Making sure your student goes to bed early;
Providing breakfast at home or making sure they eat breakfast at school; and
Motivating your student to do their absolute best.
Students will need a set of working headphones to take the test. Please check with your student to see whether their headphones are still in working order. Wired headphones are preferred. Having headphones is crucial to your student's success.
