Prof. Eduardo Galembeck is the project coordinator and a biologist, as well as a Full Professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He holds a PhD in Biological Sciences and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania and Purdue University. His academic background combines biological sciences with the development of digital and technological approaches to research and education.
He has extensive experience in the development of digital technologies for scientific education, monitoring, and data-driven systems, with work spanning the integration of electronic devices, sensors, software, and data acquisition platforms. His research emphasizes applied, low-power, and scalable solutions, developed through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Over the years, Prof. Galembeck has coordinated and participated in projects involving remote monitoring systems, autonomous data collection, and digital tools applied to complex environments. His professional trajectory bridges biological research, technological development, and innovation, supporting the design of robust monitoring solutions.
In this project, Prof. Galembeck provides strategic leadership and technical expertise for the development and integration of autonomous electronic systems for maritime signaling and environmental monitoring, ensuring strong alignment between experimental research, system design, and real-world applications.

He holds a PhD in Biological Sciences (Zoology) and has extensive experience in marine zoology, with emphasis on the systematics, biodiversity, and life cycles of cnidarians, particularly hydrozoans. His work combines long-term field research, taxonomic studies, and scientific outreach, including the coordination of the Cifonauta Marine Biology Image Bank, a major open-access resource for marine biodiversity.

His work combines applied research, technological development, and engineering education, including the coordination of projects in electronic automation, cloud-based monitoring, and low-power electronic systems.
