FEBRACE 2026

One of the educational activities developed within the Bioē Project involves the supervision of Junior Scientific Initiation projects carried out in partnership with the Instituto Federal de São Paulo (IFSP – Campus Campinas). These activities aim to integrate high school and technical education students into real scientific and technological research environments, encouraging early engagement in science, engineering, environmental monitoring, and marine technology.

In 2026, the project “BlueClarity – Remote Monitoring and Intelligent Analysis of Turbidity in Marine Farms Using ESP-LoRa” achieved outstanding recognition at the student research competition, receiving first place in the Engineering category and third place in the Maritime Mindset category. The project focused on the development of an intelligent oceanographic buoy equipped with autonomous turbidity monitoring, LoRa communication systems, renewable energy integration, and anti-biofouling technologies for marine environments.  

The project team included the students Maria Julia Dos Santos Prates, Miguel Costa Borges de Lima, and Samuel Lellis de Godoy Gonçalves, under the supervision of Prof. Edson Anício Duarte (IFSP – Campus Campinas) and co-supervision of Prof. Eduardo Galembeck (Institute of Biology, Unicamp).  

This initiative highlights the importance of interdisciplinary education and demonstrates how collaborations between universities and federal institutes can foster innovation, scientific training, and technological development focused on sustainability and marine environmental monitoring.
