This section presents the development and testing of autonomous oceanographic buoys designed for maritime signaling, environmental monitoring, and real-time monitoring of bioelectrochemical energy generation systems. The project integrates sensors, low-power electronics, wireless communication systems, and renewable energy technologies into intelligent floating platforms capable of operating in marine environments for extended periods.
The buoys are being developed to support continuous monitoring of environmental parameters such as temperature, salinity, turbidity, and other oceanographic variables, while also serving as signaling devices for experimental marine structures and bioelectrochemical systems deployed at sea. In addition, the platforms will be used for real-time monitoring of voltage generation and other electrical parameters associated with marine bioelectrochemical experiments.
The systems combine autonomous operation, remote data transmission, and low-energy consumption strategies, contributing to the development of accessible technologies for coastal monitoring, marine research, and experimental bioelectrochemical applications in seawater environments.
