Teaching with Writing Online Workshop:

Teaching Team Writing

Thursday, April 11, 2024

1:00–2:30 pm

Online via Zoom

Students who experience well-designed team writing assignments describe several benefits to their learning, both mastering and understanding course content and learning the benefits and challenges of collaborative teams. Team activities provide students with unique opportunities to reflect on their writing practices and can help to build confidence and competence in writing more broadly.

In this workshop, Joe Moses, coauthor of The Collaborative Writing Playbook Series (with Jason Pham), and Dan Emery from the Teaching with Writing Program, will work with faculty members and instructors on the design and implementation of effective team writing tasks and assessments. Attendees are encouraged to bring their current collaborative writing assignments and their questions and challenges related to team writing.

Facilitators: Joe Moses (Writing Studies), Dan Emery (Assistant Director, Writing Across the Curriculum)

Audience: Faculty, instructors, and graduate students
Format: Online workshop via Zoom
