Capstone experiences offer a meaningful writing and research experience to students preparing to graduate, allowing them to pull together the knowledge and skills developed through their majors. The American Association of Colleges and Universities affirms capstone’s value, identifying it as a high-impact practice for undergraduate education.

This panel brings together faculty and instructors who direct capstone projects in their undergraduate majors or work with students completing honors theses. While the forms of capstone experiences will differ across contexts and disciplines, these instructors will identify features of capstone design and offer advice for aiding students through these assignments and activities.
