In 2023, the Office of the Provost and the Senate Committee on Educational Policy informed instructors that AI policies for individual courses were left to the discretion of each instructor. At the same time, they introduced three model syllabus statements for those who prefer to embrace AI tools, allow limited use of generative AI, or restrict generative AI use entirely.
This panel will bring together instructors who chose these paths to share what they have learned and discuss how their AI policy choices influenced student learning and student writing in their courses.
