This is my favorite salad to make. It’s called Carrot Ribbon Salad. You use a peeler to shave the carrots, and it takes forever so this meal is something that I love to share with people. I made it for a party that welcomed all the new neighbors and I got to meet a lot of people and it brought a whole new community into my life.
This was a day my friends and I went to a park and spent time together. Having people or a community to support each other and talk about what we’re going through benefits my mental health.
This is rootbeer jelly from the farmers market. I'm gonna take a trip to see my mother for her 50th class reunion and save that root beer jelly to enjoy it with my mom!
I was sitting in the sun with my unsweetened iced tea and hanging out with my friend. This is uplifting and healthy for me.
My friend and I went on a sushi date at Momo. Friendship and food are things that bring joy and contribute to my happiness.
These two little acorns reminded me of the buddy system and having a role model that you work with to help reach your health goals. I’m in a diabetes prevention program with another member right now and it’s a bit like the buddy system.

Everything in here is from my garden and it’s all healthy and fresh. This shows what you can do when you put a lot of love into something. And it’s something I can share with my community!
I’m kind of obsessed with my compost bin. It's really fun and it’s given me a new perspective on what happens to food scraps and how they break down. I wish people would use it more and that people would be a little bit more careful about what they put in the compost. It’s part of the bigger picture of sharing the earth and what that the wellbeing means for our communities and for our own personal health.
